Below is the name and personal statement of opposition to airport expansion of everyone who has signed the pledge.

As I don't have to get up for work until 7.30 a.m. I have plenty of time to think about what they're doing to the climate. My pledge against airport expansion comes from my conviction that global warming is a timebomb we have the power to defuse. Unlike any other time in history our scientific knowledge enables us to read what the future holds. We also have the means and capacity to choose a different path, if we act quickly. The steps are simple: cut CO2 at every opportunity. Airport expansion is an inexcusable backwards step and I pledge to take personal action to prevent it. If thousands of us take this pledge there's a chance that we will all sleep easier at night, and not just because the skies are quieter. |
