Airports and airlines exist solely to make a profit. They pay advertisers and professional lobbyists to argue their self-serving case for endless expansion. This indoctrination has been swallowed by central and local government, by planning authorities, and by a lot of ordinary people. The ordinary people must fight against the brainwashing, and regain their country for themselves!

Expanding airports is linked to further environmental degradation, as it facilitates more airlines (namely discount airlines) to offer more routes with ease. Thus, linking airport expantion to climate change.

i think that to expand airports is clearly another step in the wrong direction for global warming and is irresponsible and ignorant

Not only do I oppose airport expansion I feel aircraft should be taxed in relation to the amount of pollution (atmospheric, visual and audible etc)they cause.

It's appalling that a Government which claims to be 'green' has done so much in allowing Airports and Airlines to further expand and pollute, both locally and globally. It really does seem to be all about money after all - and I foolishly believed that Labour were concerned with 'the greater good', but they really are as bad as the Tories where corporate greed is the be all and end all. Their most recent White Paper on the future of Air Transport showed appalling disregard for our environment and for the public health of all the tax payers who are, after all, subsidising this industry - whether they like it or not. It would be wise for all those to put their faith in economic growth to consider that once our planet has been destroyed, money will be worthless.

I oppose the expansion of airports because of the added pollution and disturbance it would cause.

I do believe that there are enough airports, and they are big enough, especially in England. More aircompanies may be bankrupt soon after starting up. Seems senseless and uncaring where polution is concerned.

Why is air travel promoted by the Government by it taxing fuel for use in road transport but not for air transport?.

(capitals are italics) It is very irresponsible for goverments to want expansion of airports and MORE planes when THEY KNOW it makes MUCH MORE pollution making it MUCH MORE hotter and MUCH worse wheather
